Andy Saltarelli
Stanford University Senior Director, Teaching Design and Practice
I am the senior director of teaching design and practice in Stanford's Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (https://vptl.stanford.edu/). I help to establish and facilitate strategic, campus-wide initiatives in teaching practice, instructional design, and digital learning. I lead a team that facilitates programing and collaborates with departments and faculty to develop new and effective face-to-face, blended, and other digital learning experiences for on campus learners and beyond. My disciplinary background is in educational psychology and my research (http://www.andysaltarelli.com/research/) centers on systematically investigating the intersection of social psychology and instructional technologies. Specifically, I seek to understand how instructional technologies interact with the social psychological processes (e.g., belongingness, motivation, cooperation) underlying teaching and learning.
